Yahoo Bingo Close Affiliate Program 0

Yahoo Bingo is one of several different brands that offer online games to players through the G2 Gtech software. Recently we received an email informing us of the impending closure of the affiliate scheme through which sites like ours promote the bingo offering to readers. The reason for the closure was not stated, it was simply said that ‘Yahoo Bingo will no longer be promoting their brand via any affiliates on the G2 Affiliate network as of September 25th’.

As the Point of Consumption tax introduction draws ever closer could it be that we see many sites like Yahoo Bingo drop affiliates in an effort to cut costs?

Madhusudhan Rao Chokkana, the Principal Associate-Client Services for Gtech did take the time to thank us for our support to date and express his appreciation and whilst that is all very nice, it doesn’t detract from the fact that sites like ours have marketed their brand to readers and in turn created users. The players who affiliates have introduced to the brand may still have value to Yahoo Bingo, still be frequenting the site – why then should the sites that introduce the player no longer be paid?

Yahoo Bingo isn’t the first site to do this – all the brands that have been purchased by 8 Ball Games have dropped affiliates too. We’ve no doubt that they won’t be the last either but it’s a bitter pill to swallow for the industry but the chances are, a pill that is going to be taken on a more regular basis in the coming months.
