Winner Bingo have a great reputation with their advertising with their first campaign being quite a hit with TV viewers. Can the same be said of their latest television offering that introduces Mr Winner? We’ve seen a number of brands use semi-clad men in their advertising (Boyle Bingo and Wink Bingo both used the Dream Idols with Foxy once using the Dream Boys for a number of events) but Mr Winner, although stripping to lurex gold boxers, is not someone you would place in the same category

New Style Tombola Bingo Adverts 0

When Tombola Bingo first started to advertise their wares on television we were massive fans. We loved the rollercoaster / fairground theme but sadly the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) weren’t too keen resulting in the commercials being banned. The next round of adverts didn’t fair too well under the ASA scrutiny either and then came the “dating site” style commercials featuring an array of different Tombola players participating in a selection of different activities. The latter we have never been overly keen on. However, now there are new commercials for Tombola Bingo!

It was only last week that we covered the launch of the new look site from Wink Bingo and today we take a look at the commercial that is now showing on the small screen to compliment the redesign. Over the years we have seen many bingo adverts use iconic songs on their commercials and Wink have opted for the Ottawan song, D.I.S.C.O. Of course we aren’t hearing those five letters of the alphabet from Wink though…

Once upon a time there was a brand called Wink Bingo, the site was owned by Daub Ltd and offered many a decent promotion to the player who frequented the site. Then one day the site was acquired by 888 Holdings and it appeared to take a bit of back seat to the companies flagship bingo site 888Ladies. The promotions became limited and repetitive and the site lost direction for a while but could this be set to change? A recent post on social network site would suggest so as there is talk of a new look for Wink Bingo

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) received a complaint about a commercial shown in August on the Demand 5 service that offered a special offer for Direct Debit players of the Health Lottery. The complaint question whether the commercial encouraged gambling behaviour that was socially irresponsible and could lead to financial harm

When it comes to advertising an online bingo brand we have seen some really odd examples over the years but of late Mecca Bingo seems to have the monopoly on weird when it comes to marketing. Their recent campaigns have consisted of a twerking cactus and a talking tortoise. However, we’ve just come across what is arguable the worst of the recent adverts from this big name brand, a talking crème brulee!

Have you ever misheard the lyrics to a song once and then when you hear it again, you sing the misheard lyrics? This is what is happening in the Bingo Supermarket HQ at the moment after watching the new Galalala Bingo advert! In fact, it took us quite some time to actually figure out what the original song was simply because all we had stuck in our head was Ga la la la Bingo! The version that we had stuck in our head was by Bananarama and is called Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye, a song that was [&hellip

There are some brands that advertise on television whose ‘mascots’ quickly make the brand recognisable. See meerkats and you think Compare the Market, energizer bunny and Duracell, Churchill the dog, Felix the Cat – they all conjure up images of certain brands. The same could be said of the Bet365 Bingo Heads but they are not present in the current marketing campaign for the brand!

Mirror Bingo Advert Misses The Boat 0

When online bingo first became popular many a brand would wax lyrical about how it was better to play online than in your local hall but over the years there has been more of a crossover between the two. Mecca and Gala bother have online and land based offerings but even some of the lesser-known offline club operators (Beacon for example) now have an online arm. Each have their benefits to the player but the Mirror Bingo advert is actually quite detrimental to the land based industry

Every Wednesday the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) publish their rulings for the week and each week we pop along to see if any online gaming companies have had their wrists slapped. Last Wednesday it was Ladbrokes whose marketing came underfire with no less than 98 complaints! The standard is usually 1 or 2, 98 is a first for us. The adverts consisted of four TV commercials, six posters, four video on demand and a Youtube clip and all focused around a group of five lads we each had a nickname to do with betting
