Lucky in Love! Bingo couple scoop over £250,000 in Glasgow 0
Posted on 24, March 2015
Luck was in the air on Wednesday 17th February, as a husband and wife scooped a whopping £255,000 National Bingo Game Jackpot at Mecca Bingo, Forge in Glasgow.
The winning couple, who wish to remain anonymous, have been playing bingo together since it opened in 1996. They won the prize money on St Patrick’s Day, but in this case it was luck of the Scottish not the Irish.
This incredible win follows on from Glasgow being announced as the UK’s fifth luckiest club boasting 54 big money National Bingo Game wins between February 2014 and February 2015.
It was the local gentleman that called the winning numbers to take the jackpot, which he will of course be sharing with his wife. The pair go to bingo every week with the hopes of taking home some winnings, but have never in their many years of playing dreamed of taking home such a life-changing sum.
Paul McGlinchey, General Manager of Mecca Bingo, Forge in Glasgow says: “The atmosphere in the club was electric. When the amount was announced they were in complete shock and could barely believe it.
“It’s fantastic for the whole club when we get a big winner, especially when it’s one of our regular players, and in this case it was two!”
