The Numbers at Gala Bingo Stacking UP 0
Posted on 4, March 2015
Gala have shown a significant growth in profits as well as a staggering increase in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation. The most recent period of results over the 16 weeks to mid January reported a £12.1 million EBITDA, 66 percent up on the same period last year.
The main reason for the much improved performance was the obvious reduction in bingo duty, an increase in spend per heads from introducing more electronic bingo tablets and the expansion on content on B3 Gaming machines.
Player numbers however were still in decline showing a drop off in the less profitable paper players who appear to be cutting down on the number of visits.
Gala believe the results are encouraging and will continue to focus on the customer experience with everyday low prices as well as fixed prize boards to improve retention.
